Building a Home Addition$110.00 to $120.00 per square foot for premium grade construction $85.00 to $90.00 per square foot for standard grade construction Having entered SF prices in the box, I will have to say that square footage pricing is the about the most unreliable way to price out a house or business structure that you can come up with. It is not accurate under most circumstances - since building projects by their nature encounter homeowner changes to scope of work or materials or upgrades or local building code requirements or site conditions - make any advance prediction of the total cost of any construction project based on square footage totally unreliable. Unit-pricing is still the only accurate way to calculate a project.
